Slip Happens! Don’t Let It Sabotage Your Weight Loss

Hey, Slip happens!  Don’t let it ruin your entire diet.  You need to immediately get back on track and don’t beat yourself up over it.  One (or more) slips don’t mean you should throw out the rest of the day, week or the entire program.  Take some time to think about what caused you to fall off track and take steps to avoid the same trigger in the future.  Often times, we’re just bored or tired, don’t let emotional eating cause you to fail in your weight loss efforts.

NEVER, EVER wait until tomorrow to take action. The time for action is right NOW. This minute. This moment.  You are probably facing a make it or break it moment in your dieting efforts.  Give in and you may be throwing in the towel and abandoning your weight loss goals for good.  Next thing you know, you’ll be watching the scale creep back up and regaining everything you’ve worked so hard to lose … and possibly more!

When you’re ready to grab a bite to eat, or indulge in that sugary treat, take a moment to analyze WHY you’re eating.  Are you really hungry?  That donut might look good right now, but a quick walk around the block might be all you need to recharge your efforts to stick to your dieting plan.  If you’re in an afternoon slump, grab an apple or a juice spritzer and a small piece of cheese.  This should give you the energy boost you need to make it through until dinner.

Did you know that the biggest diet disaster in the making is boredom?  Whether you’re bored with what you’re doing, or bored with your food choices, being in a rut is something we need to work at moving out of.  Find a new exercise that will help motivate you.  Learn a few 60 second quick calorie burning moves that you can incorporate when you’re just having one of those moments.

If you’re bored with your menu choices, shake it up a little!  Variety is the spice of life and no one said you had to tie yourself into a staid boring food plan.  Add some excitement; have you looked at all the choices available in the produce department lately?  Pick up something you haven’t tried before and get ready for a pleasant surprise.  If you’re unsure where to start, talk to the produce manager, he’ll be happy to guide you to something deliciously new.  You can also visit the spice isle of your local market, try some new herbs or spices and reinvent those foods you’ve come to rely on.

Do something today so you can avoid the boredom gremlin tomorrow!
