Diet to Lose Weight

I have decided to start a new weight loss program. I have been thinking about it for a while now, and have read a lot about different kinds of diets. I think I am ready to start this process of losing weight, and I have designed a diet plan that I think will work for me. It will be a diet that I can stay with for at least six months. Here is what I have decided that is important to have in my diet.

First of all, I know that I must increase the amount of water that I drink every day. I know that I don’t drink anywhere near the proper amount of water, so I have decided to increase the amount of water I drink to at least eight, eight ounce glasses of water each day. The first step in my diet to lose weight is to make sure that I keep hydrated and keep properly flushing out the waste products from my body. This is one of the most important steps in anyone’s weight loss diet.

The second step is to get more exercise. Since this is the first day of my attempt to diet and lose weight, I began by going for an hour’s walk down the lane in front of my house. I walked all the way to the town line which is one half mile from my front door. It was a sunny morning, and I really enjoyed the nice walk. I remember thinking if every walk is as nice as this one, my diet and weight loss plans will be simple to continue.

Next on my diet and list of things to do in order to lose weight is to reduce the amount of food that I eat, and change how I eat it. For some time now I have realized that eating in the evening isn’t good for my night’s sleep, so I have decided that I will no longer eat after six o’clock in the evening. No evening snacks in front of the television for me! In addition to eating in a more regimented time manner, I will also cut down the portions that I eat. This will be pretty simple I think, because I know that I tend to take large portions of the foods that I enjoy most. For now, I am not going to cut out anything, but just try to cut down on sheer volume. Oh, and I also will not be eating any sweet treats or white bread: only whole wheat for me from now on.

It doesn’t sound like much of a weight loss diet, does it? But it is a diet that will work for me and one that I can stick wtih for six months. At the end of that time I hope to have lost some weight. I know that the exercise every day and the added amount of water will help my overall health, and I will have begun a new weight loss plan that I can easily live with.
