Do Quick Weight Loss Diets Work?

You’ve heard countless studies telling you the same thing over and over again and still we all hope it’s not true, quick weight loss diets do not work!  No matter how reputable the source and how many times we hear it, we think we’re going to be different than everyone else and we’ll take the weight off fast and keep it off. Don’t count on it.  There is no weight loss program that can miraculously take the weight off, that is something you will have to put some effort into.

Most weight loss tips you’ll find say, weight loss slowly tends to stay off longer.  That’s true, but I think there’s more to this headline than meets the eye.  The typical person who wants to lose weight quick is someone who has a special event right around the corner and they need to fit into a dress or a pair of slacks they haven’t worn in a couple of years.  Maybe it’s a wedding or a family reunion, regardless there’s no way your self image is going to tolerate you having to have your clothing altered at the last minute.

When you’re trying to lose weight for a specific event you’re much less likely to keep that weight off.  That’s the real result from all of these studies but you never hear it put that way.  Think about it, up until you found out about the wedding or whatever it is, you lacked the motivation to lose the weight you needed to drop. So what do you think is going to happen to your motivation once the event is over? That’s right, it’s going to go right back where it was before.  That means you’re going to exercise less, if at all, and you’re going to return to your old eating habits.  When you do this, your body is going to follow and return to it’s old shape.  A simple program like weight loss for idiots will teach you the necessary steps to maintain lasting weight loss.

If you’re looking for a real lifestyle change and you want to drop some pounds for good, forget doing it quickly and focus on doing it right.  You can even learn how to lose belly fat and keep it off by making some minor changes in your lifestyle until they’re no longer outside of your norm.  Then make a few more.  Continue to push yourself in baby-steps in the right direction and get to where your new healthy way of living isn’t a diet, but rather just how you live.  That’s going to give you a lasting change.
